The End of a Very Long Year; or, The Degeneration of the Master Race
Some years feel short and just fly by, while others feel very long. 2022 year has felt longer than most. The Russian-Ukrainan War, the continued spread of COVID, the World Cup, Kanye’s embrace of fascism, the release of Elden Ring, that Larry David FTX Superbowl commercial that made everyone laugh and then turned out to be a massive Ponzi Scheme, my acquisition of a PS5; all seminal, global events that happened THIS YEAR. A busy schedule! Oh, and Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter.
IS ELON MUSK A GENIUS? No, Elon Musk is not a genius. He comes from generational wealth procured in Apartheid Era South Africa, built on the backs of exploited emerald mine workers who lacked basic human rights. He buys things that other people make and then brands himself as an inventor. His rockets explode and his cars burst into flame with auto-pilots that malfunction and hit pedestrians. The Boring Company has done nothing and the Hyperloop was a vaporware scheme designed to discourage spending on public transit so he could sell more of his shitty cars. His ‘Neuralink’ bullshit tortured thousands of monkeys to death for no reason. He bragged that no one could stop him from launching a coup against foreign nations that had the rare earth minerals he needed for his cars. Ten years ago he said he’d put a man on Mars by 2022. His principle medium of communication are mediocre memes which he steals from other people.

There is at least one documented case of Musk sexually harassing a SpaceX employee, who he then attempted to silence by buying her a horse. He paid a subordinate to bear his children through IVF, while ignoring the eight other children that he has from various other women. He is obsessed with society collapsing due to “declining birth rates” in a year that saw the world population reach 8 billion people, which would be weird if you didn’t understand that he is talking about the birth rates of rich, white Silicon Valley people. He recently tried to approximate human emotion by speaking about about how he held his newborn son in his arms as it died, then was corrected by his ex-wife who clarified that she was actually the one who held the baby in her arms, while he was not there.
Musk treats the employees of all of his companies with capricious cruelty, which our country loves because most Americans dream of being an oppressor rather than a liberator. The Tesla car company has settled lawsuits with black employees for fostering a culture of blatant racial discrimination. His first order of business at Twitter was to fire thousands of works and then force the remaining people to sleep in their offices, while allowing Neo-nazis back online and scaring off all of the major sponsors. In the subsequent weeks, he has declared that Twitter will no longer be paying its rent on its SF office and will not honor many of the severance packages that it gave the employees that it fired. When you are not rich and cannot pay money that you owe, this makes you a ‘deadbeat.’ When you are rich and but simply choose not to pay the money you owe, you are a savvy businessman. Meanwhile, Tesla has lost $700 billion in market value over the last year.
At best, Musk is a con artist carnival barker who excuses his own inhuman malevolence through the 4Chan methodology of self-diagnosed himself with Asperger’s Syndrome. At worst, he is a nihilistic psychopath operating a house of cards that will crash the economy when it eventually tumbles down. But don’t speak ill of him, or he’ll accuse you of being a pedophile and send his weird minions after you.
DAVE CHAPPELLE once cancelled his own TV show at the height of its success because he was afraid that it was making white people more racist. Now he’s a rich asshole who punches down at trans people and Jews and poor people, fought to block affordable housing in his Ohio community, and last week brought Musk- the world’s richest Apartheid scion- out on stage at the end of his recent comedy show in San Francisco for some reason.
The crowd was not delighted! And when they began to jeer the plutocrat who had just fired thousands of their fellow San Franciscans and moved his Tesla operations to Texas after badmouthing California, Chapelle insulted his audience, with special ire reserved for those sitting, and I quote, in “the cheap seats.”
I guess class does transcend race. And that seems to be a running theme, because…
MULTI-CULTURAL WHITE SUPREMACY IS THE HOT NEW THING IN AMERICA. Whether it’s an African-American with biracial children like Kanye West, Mexican-American Nazi Nick Fuentes, British homosexual and pedophilia advocate Milo Yiannopouls, Asian-American fake journalist/fascist provocateur Andy Ngo, Malaysian non-American Miles Ian Chong, or libertarian racists with Asian wives like Canadian “Proud Boy” founder Gavin McIness and Simian-American Mike Cernovich, the push for a white Christian American ethnostate has a surprisingly large tent.
I suppose that it would be rude to point that the fascist regime that these people strive for would likely kill/enslave them and then sterilize their children, but sometimes it’s the journey that matters, not the destination.

No shame in picking Option B! Creating things is a lot of hard work and sometimes who needs the fucking hassle? If you made me the same offer but swapped the choices with A) play a game in the NBA or b) don’t play a game in the NBA, I would choose to not play in the NBA. But then again, I’m not trying to play in the NBA. And yet, people who don’t want to make any creative projects seem to be holding the pursestrings in the the world of the arts.
As discussed recently with “The Batgirl” movie debacle at AOLHBOMaxTimeWarnerDiscovery, the People Running Things have discovered that it can be more profitable to make nothing than to make something. In addition to cancelling projects and shutting down development workshops for new talent, Discovery has now cancelled the second season of the series Minx while it was almost done filming it, then pulled every season of Westworld from its famed/comprehensive “HBOMax” online catalog, for tax benefits and to save a pittance in royalty costs to writers and producers.
Other programmers are starting to see the writing on the wall. Netflix’s Grendel adaptation has been indefinitely shelved after the entire first season was filmed. This will become more of a thing. Capitalism will continue to cannibalize the arts, cutting costs and using hacky AI programs to remove human labor (most of management generally hate artists for their cost and presumption) from the equation, eventually self-sabotaging to the point where American cultural hegemony around the globe is forfeit.
But will that be the end of American culture? Probably not. Innovation pops up where you least expect it. Jazz, Rock and Roll, Hip Hop, the personal computer, superheroes, Baseball, Punk, Facebook, and Abstract Expressionism all became the commodified playthings of plutocrats to varying degrees, but they didn’t start out that way. In the beginning, most innovations come from young, hungry outsiders who thought that the world as they experienced it was bullshit and wanted to make something new.
