Telling ‘Orange Cheeto’ Jokes in the Work Camps; Or, Content Nearing Obsolescence
I HAVE RETURNED, SORT OF. Your humble and wry observer of human folly has been working for the United States Census. It is an overworked and under-resourced organization, and most people don’t seem to have an understanding of why it’s important. You may be surprised to learn that your state is losing Congressmen and electoral votes soon, because you did not fill out your census papers! Won’t THAT be a surprise. Your Great President has, before his recent admittance to Walter Reed Hospital for COVID-19, done his level best to shorten/choke off/underfund the entire project, in a a further effort to cripple democracy. Even though the courts overrode his orders and extended things to the end of October, he’s still done a pretty good job!
IT WAS ONCE said that it was once said that when fascism comes to the United States, it be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross. The implication being that evil comes like a virus in the form of the host it seeks to infiltrate. America’s fascists won’t walk and talk like 1940s Nazis. They’re be smiling Americans, like you and me.
LOL, turns out no. The American fascists are actually dressing, walking, and talking like 1930s Nazis. They carry swastikas, wear iron crosses, and commit acts violence whilst crying like children when you call them out for being monstrous. “So much for the tolerant left!” they say. And they’re correct. Don’t tolerate Nazis.
Because fascists don’t want a ‘fascist culture’. There is no such thing as a ‘fascist culture’, only a death cult that destroys all that it sees before devouring itself, in turn. Fascists hate life and want to die, and want to take as many people as they can with them. One can see this in their fascination with the Confederate States of America, the Crusaders, the Spartans, the Vikings, and the Third Reich. These are history’s losers. Sure, some of them claim an affection for ancient Rome, but never the Republic part of it. Always the decaying, lead-poisoned, collapsing Imperial era (though only the Western half, never the East). Not a lot of Carthaginian empire or Mongol cosplay fans among the white imperialists of America.
QANON IS LOOKING TO STOP PEDOPHILES! Mainly in the form of “liberal” Hollywood elite sickos whose movies they cannot stop seeing, and lives they cannot stop gossiping about in endless detail. None of these people actually care about stopping pedophiles or saving children or whatever. You can’y really care about kids when you’re pushing for schools to reopen during a pandemic, don’t care about climate change, and don’t believe in universal healthcare for children. These people are chasing the high of moral superiority, as well as the chance to live out their most violent fantasies (‘pedophiles’, in this case) on others without fear of reprisal.
Most importantly, this is (say it with me) another case of *projection*. Systemic abuse has been found in ICE detention centers along the southern border. The President is a multiple-accused accused rapist who used to run a creepy beauty pageant for teens where he liked to burst into the dressing room unannounced. Shall the QAnoners face these unpleasant truths in the mirror, or will they chase phantoms selling pizza? You already know the answer.
A FEW MONTHS BACK, A MAJORITY OF REPUBLICANS in a poll said that the number of people who have died from COVID-19 is “acceptable.” Presumably this number would change if the people who had died had been allowed to participate in the survey. But, maybe not! Maybe they’d just be happy to know that they died for a reason. That reason being, ‘Living Republicans get to feel tough by not caring about human life.’
As it turns out, the living may now have the chance to express an even greater level of toughness. The rush to replace Ruth ‘Bader’ Ginsburg with a Christian religious zealot on the Supreme Court compelled the GOP to throw a ‘super-spreader’ event that has left much of the Republican leadership infected with COVID-19. And because we are now all living in a strange Pynchon novel, our gameshow host President became afflicted after months of laughing it off and downplaying deaths, possibly at the hands of a Typhoid Mary staffer named “Hope.”
NOW, I AM CONFIDENT THAT AMERICA can produce a worse President than Trump, but to date, he DOES stand as the closest thing we have to an American Hitler in our lives. Listen! Carl Jung said that Hitler was Germany’s “Odin”, a veritable God who channelled the public’s darkest, unconscious desires in the aftermath of World War I, driving them to unspeakable evil.
So too, has Trump tapped into the foulest corners of the American Id. He is a grotesque, cruel, racist, plutocrat governed by his basest urges. He has failed his way through life, enjoying unlimited credit and zero accountability. For many United Statians, the American Dream is not to build yourself up from nothing. The American Dream is to indulge in every whim and sensation without any personal consequences, without regard to other people or their futures. It’s a defiant reaction to the obvious environmental and social issues we now face, which will require community and shared sacrifice if we’re going to survive.
BUT MAYBE THEY’LL JUST LEAVE US TO DIE while they move underground or to the Moon. That seems more likely.

I WATCHED AN EXCELLENT AND SAD DOCUMENTARY called McQueen, about the troubled, wildly talented fashion designer who peaked early and then committed suicide at age 40. His costumes and runway shows were pretty wild.
